Antidote integrates with memoQ
At the 2019 Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec’s (OTTIAQ) conference today, Druide informatique announced that its Antidote suite now offers full integration with memoQ. Translators can access Antidote’s language resources directly from memoQ’s renowned translation environment, providing a seamless way to improve translation quality.
Antidote’s tools, which include an advanced corrector, multiple dictionaries and extensive language guides, interact with major word processing and email programs, for both French and English. memoQ offers a complete translation management system, which includes translation memory, project management and cloud-based solutions. Both applications are used on a daily basis by thousands of language-industry professionals, including many of OTTIAQ’s 2200 members.
By clicking a button in the Translation tab, users of memoQ 9.1 can invoke Antidote’s corrector to check individual documents or whole views. Once in Antidote’s interface, users will also be able to look up the definitions, synonyms and combinations of both French and English words.
“memoQ users have been asking for integration with Antidote. We’re happy to be able to provide this service through the open APIs available in both products; it allows us to smoothly bring together two world-class applications for translators,” says Brunó Bitter, Chief Operating Officer of memoQ Translation Technologies inc., memoQ’s North American hub, headquartered in Toronto.
“memoQ’s team has done great work developing this new connector, which is already of tremendous benefit to professionals who translate into French or English,” says Alexandre Larouche, Software Integration Director at Druide informatique. “Our collaboration allowed us to improve the API for Antidote 10 v3, our upcoming free update, which will provide an even better interaction between memoQ and Antidote.”
Druide informatique produces and markets Antidote, the most complete writing assistance software suite available for English and French, as well as Typing Pal, the renowned typing tutorial application. Druide is also the creator of WebElixir, a quality assurance service for websites, while its subsidiary, Éditions Druide, publishes French-language literature and reference works.
