Antidote Mobile 4: The First Bilingual Version

Druide informatique is pleased to announce the publication of Antidote Mobile 4, the fourth edition of its renowned software for iPhone and iPad. It is the first iOS edition to offer a bilingual version, meaning that all of the French and English content from Antidote’s dictionaries and guides is included, as well as 2.6 million translations of words and expressions.

There are three versions of Antidote Mobile 4: Antidote Mobile 4 – French, Antidote Mobile 4 – English and Antidote Mobile 4 – Bilingual. They all share an improved interface, simplified browsing, dynamically sized fonts and modernized list display. As requested by many users, the interface has been carefully adapted to dark mode. This edition brings new Siri shortcuts, allowing definitions, synonyms and word combinations to be summoned with simple voice commands.

The bilingual version stands out for its ability to toggle intelligently between each language according to the characters entered or the word being searched for. A simple tap in any of the application’s dictionaries toggles from a word in one language to its equivalent in the other. The definitions dictionary includes more than 900,000 translations of all words, expressions and proverbs, pairing each sense in each language, along with all of its nuances. In addition, the dictionary of word combinations displays 1.7 million translations with several examples for each one.

In French, Antidote Mobile 4 adds more than 6000 new words and expressions, such as animoji, gyroroue and coefficient synaptique. It also includes COVID-related vocabulary such as prépandemie and déconfiner. All of the dictionaries have been updated, including the synonyms, which now include new filters and the option to sort lists by relevance. There are 50 new articles in the guides, which enjoy a revamped, elegant layout.

In English, 16,000 new words and expressions have been added, such as pegan, upcycle, superspreader and community transmission. There are nearly 200,000 new synonyms, as well as a brand-new dictionary of 128,000 antonyms. 150 new articles in the guides bring the total number to more than 500.

Antidote Mobile 4 is the first edition to be compatible with Antidote+ packages. This allows those with a subscription to one of these packages to synchronize their favourites, word lists and guide articles with Antidote 10 and Antidote Web.

Antidote+ includes Antidote Mobile 4 at no additional cost; simply subscribe at www.antidote.info. Antidote Mobile 4 is also available on the App Store for $11.99 per year for a single language or $17.99 per year for the bilingual version (equivalent to $1 and $1.50 per month respectively).
