Antidote Mobile: Richer and More Practical
Druide informatique announces the release of an update to Antidote Mobile, the iPhone and iPad edition of its famous writing assistance software. This update gains important new language features from Antidote 11 v3, which is also being released today. In another major improvement, Druide is introducing a simpler and faster way to access Antidote Mobile content.
Now, to access Antidote definitions from another application, one can select a word, tap the “Share” command in the selection menu and choose Antidote in the share panel. Definitions and details are displayed directly in the host application. You can navigate there at leisure, save finds in lists of favourites, then tap “Close” to return to where you were. This new mode of interaction is achieved through an extension specifically developed for iOS and iPadOS.
The dictionaries in Antidote Mobile – English have been enriched with more than 5500 new words such as micromobility, masago and plogging, as well as thousands of pronunciations, synonyms and combinations. Thanks to a new discovery option, users can explore a selection of these recent additions. Finally, every dictionary has been updated and now reflects, for example, the political and royal transitions in the United Kingdom.
Antidote Mobile – French has been enriched with more than 800 words and expressions, such as micromobilité, tobiko and visiocomparution. This is in addition to 13,200 pronunciations, 47,000 synonyms, 12,500 combinations and 630 etymologies.
Antidote Mobile – Bilingual offers all of the new features for each language, but also more than 40,000 new translations of words, expressions and combinations, for a total of 2.7 million translations.
On iPadOS in particular, all three apps have been adapted to the recent Stage Manager, and they provide improved support for an external keyboard and trackpad, including new keyboard shortcuts.
The updates for the three applications are offered free of charge to Antidote+ or Antidote Mobile subscribers, and are available in the App Store.
