Samuel Larochelle Named Honorary Chair of the Salon du livre de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue
A few weeks ago, we were pleased to learn that the writer and journalist Samuel Larochelle had been chosen to be the honorary chair of the 43rd Salon du livre de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue, the region’s annual book fair, which will be held in Amos from May 23 to 26, 2019. Known for his series Lilie, and his novels À cause des garçons and Parce que tout me ramène à toi, all published by Druide, the Abitibi native did not expect to receive such an honour so early on in his career. “I thought that maybe in 10 or 15 years I would have accomplished enough to be asked to be the honorary chair of my home region's book fair. In the end, it only took five years.” (Source: Le Citoyen Rouyn – La Sarre).
Samuel Larochelle follows in the footsteps of Sylvie Brien and Fanny Britt, both from Amos, who chaired the Salon in 2009 and 2014 respectively
