Antidote Mobile for English now on iPhone and iPad
Druide informatique announces the launch of Antidote Mobile – English, its new application for Apple’s iPhone and iPad. For the first time on mobile devices, Druide is offering an English edition of its famous software, with all the wealth of its dictionaries and language guides, as well as an enlightening Discovery mode and dictionary game.
Antidote Mobile – English features the content of all English reference resources introduced with Antidote 9, the desktop edition of Antidote. Its dictionaries contain 103,000 entries, 1.4 million synonyms, 72,000 etymologies, 155,000 phonetic transcriptions, 700,000 word combinations and 2.3 million semantic field associations. Users can search for rhymes, anagrams, multiword queries, wildcard patterns and more. In 365 articles, Antidote’s guides cover all aspects of English, from Grammar to Business Writing. Antidote Mobile – English gives users a complete reference tool for English on a device they can take anywhere.
To explore all the riches of English, a Discovery mode offers a choice of themes: rare words, countries, cities, famous people, proverbs and more; corresponding words and their definitions are then displayed in a random sequence. Users can add their findings to a personal list, which they can share with others, a feature that teachers can use to send word lists to their students. In game mode, users can test their knowledge by trying to guess a series of words from their definitions, either at random or from a custom word list; they can then share their results and high scores on Facebook or Twitter.
The user interface inherits all advances developed over the nine-year history of Antidote Mobile’s French edition, including multiple touch gestures, display tailored to all screen sizes of both iPhone and iPad, full support of SplitView and SlideOver, quick search from clipboard, voice commands, favourites, personal word lists, sharing and printing of all content and synchronization through iCloud.
For users of both languages, commands are provided for easy switching between Antidote Mobile – English and Antidote Mobile – French.
Antidote Mobile - English is offered on the App Store at US$14.99 (C$20.99). The Antidote Duo, coming soon to the App Store, bundles Antidote Mobile - English and Antidote Mobile – French for US$24.99 (C$34.99), which amounts to a 33 % discount for the second language.
Druide informatique produces and markets Antidote, the most complete writing assistance software suite available for English and French, as well as Typing Pal, the renowned typing tutorial application.
