Druide Raises $67,000 for the Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie
Exactly one month ago, Druide informatique and its subsidiary, Éditions Druide, held their thirteenth annual golf classic to benefit the Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie. All told, the event brought in over $67,000 in donations, bringing the total amount raised for the foundation since the Druide Classic’s inception to $635,000.
The money collected this year will go toward supporting the foundation’s school canteen programs in Benin. These canteens provide hot, balanced meals throughout the academic year to students in need at four elementary schools. The whole community reaps the benefits: The programs have created close to twenty jobs and use food sourced locally from another project promoting small-scale farming and community gardening.
The Classic concluded with a lovely dinner showcasing Réinspire, winner of the 2024 Druide Grand Prize for Business Creation. Founder Christine Drolet treated the 150 or so attendees to a presentation on Réinspire’s programs designed specifically for professionals who provide clinical services to students experiencing learning or adaptation difficulties. The programs favour outdoor learning activities to boost students’, parents’ and educators’ motivation and overall health.
Druide extends its thanks to all those who contributed to the event’s success this year and is pleased to announce that the fourteenth Druide Classic will be held June 3, 2025, at Club de golf Saint-Raphaël in Île-Bizard.
