Typing Pal — School Edition’s New Features for 2024
Druide informatique is pleased to announce the annual update of its web-based typing tutorial application for educational institutions, Typing Pal — School Edition. This year’s update makes it easier for schools to manage the platform and significantly expands the training program with the addition of a brand new type of activity, Word Waves.
School management responsibilities in Typing Pal can now be shared among multiple administrator accounts. This new feature, developed at the request of our users in education, offers greater flexibility and a safety net: the subscription manager can now add a back-up administrator account so that no school inadvertently finds itself without someone to manage the platform when duties are reassigned or roles change, for example.
The practice texts and educational games are now complemented by a fresh new type of activity—Word Waves. This feature helps students enrich their vocabulary while developing their typing reflexes. Words are read aloud for spelling practice and are accompanied by their definition, extracted from the writing assistant Antidote’s dictionaries. A dozen Word Wave badges have been added to those awarded for challenges already offered to students, bringing the total to over one hundred.
Improvements have been made to the educational game Magical Duel, which now features twice as many phrases to type. At the top of the training program, the introductory video presenting the key principles for learning to type has also been updated.
Educational institutions with Typing Pal subscriptions can enjoy these new features today, since they have just been rolled out globally. Many of them, including the Word Waves, have also been added to Typing Pal’s Personal and Home Editions.
