Sous le divan Among Finalists for the Hackmatack Award

Sous le divan, the first volume of the Le gardien des soirs de bridge series written by Annie Bacon and illustrated by Ghislain Barbe, is a finalist for the 2018 Hackmatack Award in the “French Fiction” category. The Hackmatack Award is a program designed to promote the creation of Canadian fiction and nonfiction books intended for young readers in grades four to six.

For several years, thousands of children in Atlantic Canada have participated in the French section of the program through schools, libraries and community groups. The winning book will be announced in Spring 2018.
