Typing Pal’s New Features for 2021 – School Edition
Druide informatique is pleased to announce the rollout of a new version of Typing Pal – School Edition, its web-based typing tutorial application for educational institutions. This year’s biggest change has taken place behind the scenes: we have fully replaced the servers and made significant structural changes. This major investment has further improved Typing Pal’s safety, stability, and performance, while also laying the groundwork for new improvements to be developed in future.
This version comes with over 80 new features, improvements, and corrections. Students and teachers alike will welcome the simplified association of Office 365, Clever, and Google accounts with Typing Pal. As well as allowing login to be completed in two clicks, this new feature also prevents the accidental creation of a new account where one already exists.
More details have been added to the management interface. The student list for a group now includes the latest exercise successfully completed, giving a rapid indication of who is behind and who is ahead. The student log also displays the number of attempts for each activity. A new filter identifies lowest completed scores, which can be erased individually to avoid adversely affecting the statistical reports. Adding personalized training texts is now even easier thanks to the automatic replacement of special characters, as well as to a new function allowing texts to be tested immediately. With the option to automatically generate letters to parents, group leaders can produce a letter for each student, including the student’s name and the Typing Pal login instructions to encourage them to continue their training at home, in the click of a button.
Students have access to a whole new series of training texts designed exclusively for the number pad to help them develop the typing skills needed for data entry. Mystery badges, now with six new challenges, give students a clue to encourage them to explore the app’s different features.
Educational institutions with Typing Pal subscriptions can enjoy these new features as of today, since they have just been rolled out globally. Many of these features have also been added to Typing Pal’s Personal and Home Editions.
Druide informatique produces and markets Antidote, the most comprehensive writing assistance software suite available for English and French, as well as Typing Pal, the renowned typing tutorial application.
