Typing Pal’s New Features for 2023 – School Edition
Druide informatique is pleased to announce the annual update of its web-based typing tutorial application for educational institutions, Typing Pal — School Edition. This rollout adds a brand-new educational game and several improvements to the management interface.
The all-new Magical Duel completes the series of educational games that have been delighting students for years now: Cosmik Ball gets learners accustomed to typing characters one by one, while Monkeys in Jeopardy works them up to typing words. Now, phrases are in the spotlight in Magical Duel’s fantasy world. Students must correctly type out spells for their character to be able to defeat a succession of increasingly formidable opponents. Five new game badges have been added to the existing challenges students can take on, bringing the total number of available achievements to 90.
Several improvements have been made to the management interface. Charts provide numerical targets for each age group (6 to 11, 12 to 16, and 17+) and skill level (beginner, intermediate, expert) to guide goal setting for typing speed and accuracy. A date filter has been added to allow quick access to activities carried out over a particular period. Teacher account permissions are now configurable, and the management settings are changing to allow multiple teacher accounts to be assigned to the same group at the start of the new school year.
Finally, schools can set an inactivity period* after which accounts will be automatically deleted, making it easier to comply with internal data management policies.
Educational institutions with Typing Pal subscriptions can enjoy these new features as of today, since they have just been rolled out globally. Many of them, including the Magical Duel game, have also been added to Typing Pal’s Personal and Home Editions.
Druide informatique produces and markets Antidote, the most comprehensive writing assistance software suite available for English and French, as well as Typing Pal, the renowned typing tutorial application.
